Wigan boss Toure 'Proud' of sides display after important draw.

Wigan Athletic manager Kolo Touré has said he is ‘proud’ of his team’s display, as they got an important point away at The Den on Saturday.

It was the Ivorian’s first game in charge of The Latics, as his managerial career started in a tough away encounter at Millwall. Touré said “It was a good game, we played against a really good side. It is tough to come to Millwall and try and get something out of the game”

It was his side which took the lead in the game, from Will Keane’s rebounded effort, before Millwall levelled through Zian Flemming’s excellent volley, with both goals coming before half time.

The Millwall boss Gary Rowett on the other hand, had admitted the lack of quality his side produced especially in the second half, as a pattern starts too emerge for The Lions. Millwall have been known for starting games poorly, before turning it around in the second half. However, since they returned too action after the World Cup break its been the opposite.

Rowett said, “I think in the last couple of games we’ve just looked a bit leggy as games have gone on, and we’ll have to make sure we get that back.”

Millwall’s next fixture is away at Luton, at a strange kick off time of 11:30 on a Sunday, with manager Rowett preparing too get his side back too winning ways. Wigan on the other hand, host second place Sheffield United, where boss Touré will hope to pick up his first managerial win.
